Cherokee Church Prayer Ministry
Journey Through Prayer
"My House Shall Be A House of Prayer" Isaiah 56:7
"Prayer that works is prayer that makes a difference, contemplation that turns into action on behalf of peace and justice in a troubled and unjust world system. Prayer is energy, the energy of love and transformative power. It is given to us to use for the good of all creation. In prayer God gives us the fule of life and ask us to live it"
Margaret Silaf
Mission Statement
The goal of the prayer ministry is to assist the congregation of Cherokee Church in centering all its activites on the gift of prayer. The prayer ministry firmly believes that spirituality consists of both individual and collective intentional communication with God, as well as the performance of Christ-like acts among oursevles and within the wider community.
The role of the prayer ministry is to help sustain the long tradition of pryaer at Cherokee Church and to provide the congregation new opportunities, structures, information, and inspiration to increase the spiritual connection among us.

Prayer Chapel Opportunities
Besides being a place of private prayer and meditiation, the Chapel offers a space for communal prayer opportunities.
-
Everyone is invited to Thursday morning prayer at 11:30 AM. This offers a time for personal prayer and reflection as well as prayer for well-being of others and the world.
-
There are two opportunities to use the prayer room on Sunday morning to prayer corporately for our church and our worship time together. Please join us in the prayer room at 8:00 or 9:30 AM.
-
Healing services are held to support those facing physical illeness, grief, and spritiual or emotional pain. They are held throughout the year, and may be requested at any time by contacting the church. Whether you are dealing with a difficult situation in your life, helping someone who is suffering, or are just weary from the everyday stresses of living, this is a comforting and restorative service which will strengthen your faith.

Praying For Each Other
-
Cherokee's prayer chain is a long standing ministry dedicated to praying for the needs of others during times of emergency, celebration, and other specific situations.
-
The prayer list which appears in the Compass each week, includes the joys and prayer concerns for the staff, congregation, and community.
-
The prayer basket contains both slips with already made requests for prayer and forms for new prayer requests. This table is located in the gathering space, below the prayer board. You are encouraged to take a slip and keep this concern in your prayers throughout the week, or to fill out a request card and put it in the basket to be added to our prayer lists.
-
The prayer board, which is located in the gathering space, lists our staff, senior members, and those serving in the military as a reminder of the constant need of prayer for these folks.
